Notary Services: Info & Fees Print E-mail

WLO Vancouver provides a full range of notary services (however, please see the important exceptions noted at the bottom of this page). We provide notary services by virtue of the fact that we are practising lawyers fully qualified to practise law in British Columbia rather than the more limited status of being a notary.

We can provide notary services at one of our offices (Downtown or Gastown) or at your location in Vancouver using our "Flying Notary" service.

Our downtown/gastown office is located at 100 - 111 Water St. Appointments are required. Please call to arrange an appointment (604 868 1375) or send us an email.

Fees for basic notary services are listed below. Even though we are full-fledged lawyers, we believe that these fees are competitive with many notary offices.

Administering an Oath or Solemn Affirmation (incl. Statutory Declarations and Affidavits)

First Oath: $29
Subsequent Oaths or Signatures on Same Visit: $10

Notarizing a Statutory Declaration for a Passport Application (if you do not have a guarantor)

Notarizing Statutory Declaration and Signing Photo: $40

Notarization of Documents (Notary Service with Notary Seal)

First Notarization: $29
Subsequent Notarizations or Signatures on Same Visit: $10

Certifying a Copy of a Document

 First Document: $39
Subsequent Documents on Same Visit: $10

Drafting an Affidavit or Statutory Declaration

From $99

Consent to Travel for Minor Child

Document + Notarization: $79

Flying Notary Service (we come to you)

Within Downtown Vancouver or Westside Vancouver: add $50 to above costs
For rush service or other areas: please contact us.

Fees indicated above do not include any applicable taxes. We accept cash or credit card for notary services.

NOTE: It is critical that you do not sign any documents requiring notary service until you are at our offices (or we are at your location). We cannot notarize documents that have already been signed. However, you should make sure that your document is completed (i.e. no information missing) before you come to see us. You will also need to show us picture identification so please bring it with you.

EXCEPTIONS: Please also note that we do NOT witness any documents relating to real estate transactions (e.g. conveyances or mortgages) or wills if they have not been prepared by us (we apologize but this is for liability reasons). If you need assistance with a real estate transaction, please call a Vancouver Real Estate lawyer.
